We are excited to share that the IKONN CS‑1 Colour & Light Sensor is now available for distribution through all our European partners. If you want to try it or order it, you can now find the distributor closest to you on our Where to buy page.
The IKONN CS‑1 is a colour and light sensor that plugs directly into the IKONN Controller and helps blind, low‑vision and deafblind users identify colours, shades and light levels in their everyday life. With IKONN, colour becomes something you can hear, feel and trust – bringing colours within everyone’s reach.
You can use it to:
Measure the colour of paper, clothes and other objects.
Switch between solid and textured surfaces to improve accuracy on patterns.
Sweep across a surface to get a breakdown of all colours in the area – ideal for patterned tablecloths, dresses or other textured items.
Locate a signature box or other coloured region on a sheet of paper
Detect light levels in a room, find a window or check if a light has been left on.
Locate and check for a status LED on another product to see if it is turned on
Check the colour displayed on phone and TV screens
The sensor can differentiate more than 20 colours, and for each colour it can recognise 5 shades, from very dark to very light, giving users a clear, spoken description via the controller. With a compact design (44 mm x 42
mm x 16 mm) and a weight of only 25 g, the CS‑1 is easy to carry and use at home, at work or on the move.
